1 John 4:4 WORDart

Happy Thursday!

It’s great to be back to blogging, I have missed it.  The summer is over and school has begun.  We have started a whole new school program and the first few days have been stressful to say the least.  Getting into a whole new routine has been a huge adjustment, but we have 177 more days to perfect it. :)  I hope you all had a great summer!

Here is the WORDart for this week.

We call ourselves grown-ups because we consider ourselves all grown-up.  As the years have passed and continue to do so, we have gained wisdom and experience. We have learned through various circumstances and our book of “how to” and “what to do” grows with the knowledge we earn. Yet, we often encounter similar emotions we experienced as a child, uncertainty, loneliness, insecurity, a longing to be loved. The emotions of a young person trying to find his place, with a longing to belong. Regardless of what society states we are, grown-ups, adults, mature, an elder, etc., in God’s eyes we are simply little children. While those around us may equate us to wisdom and experience, God sees us as we are and the true emotions we often hide deep within. Those two words “little children” are what stand out to me in I John 4:4, “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” This verse is a phrase of encouragement to God’s little children, who range from 2 to 102. We are of Him and He has overcome death, hell and the grave with His sacrifice. The demons tremble at the mere mention of His name and nothing is impossible for our God, the Creator of the Heavens and earth and the Savior of mankind. And this same powerful God has filled us with His Spirit and because of this we too can overcome them who are of the world. Them, meaning the spirits of depression, loneliness, addiction, insecurity, and hopelessness. For while the enemy prowls like a lion seeking whom he may devour (I Peter 5:8), his power is insignificant next to the power of the King of Kings. Our adversary may seem “great” in a world that is so entangled in sin and brokenness. The greatness of our Savior extends beyond sin, for it not only forgives sin, but because of His bloodshed, covers all sin to be forgotten forevermore. This power that covers that which Satan determines to bring to light, this power that causes the demons to flee, this power that strengthens the weak, this power who gives hope to the hopeless, and this power that breaks the bondages of sin is of a God who lives within you. No matter what darkness is in your personal world, when you have accepted the Savior into your heart and life; you have accepted the One who is greater than he that is in the world.

Welcome back! We just started lessons on Tuesday and both days of lessons have been a bit bumpy. First my husband got news that his dad had yet another heart attack and may not be with us long. Then I woke up yesterday to my youngest having hand, foot and mouth disease. Yet through it all the Lord has enabled us to learn that He is able to sustain us. Thank you so much for this word art this week and such a wonderful reminder Karissa that we are just little children inside and loved imeasureably by the Lord! God Bless!
