My Word and Verse for 2015

Hello there and welcome to the first Wednesday of 2015!

This week so I am sharing my verse of the year with you along with some other goodies.

I shared how I chose my word and verse of the year in my last post, but I hadn’t yet had the chance to create the WORDart when I posted it so I am playing a little bit of catch-up today.

I used the New King James for this WORDart because I like the way it explains the verse.

I love to have my verse of the year displayed beautifully in my craft studio where I can see it often and this year I designed a lovely watercolor print.

You can download it for your own personal use by clicking on the image above.

I also created a print with my word for the year.

I designed this to use as a wallpaper background for my computer screen so I see it every day.  If you would like to have the computer wallpaper, feel free to email me and I will be happy to send it to you.

I can’t wait to see what God is going to do in my life this year.  Recently I was praying and I was telling God that “I believe you can take care of this situation.”  He said, “But do you trust me to?”  I said, “But isn’t that the same thing?”  He said, “No, it’s not.”  So I went and got my dictionary and looked up the words.  Believe means “to have confidence in the truth, the existence, or the reliability of something, although without absolute proof that one is right in doing so”.  Trust means “1. reliance on the integrity, strength, ability, surety, etc. of a person or thing; confidence 2. confident expectation of something; hope”.  I was so overwhelmed by the second definition of trust…confident expectation.  Trust and believe are very similar in their meanings except for the words reliance and expectation. So many times I pray and I feel like He’s God and He’s in control and whatever He wills will be done, and I don’t put a lot of confident expectation into my prayer.  Sad, but true.  I have felt so completely out of control of my life in the past year that I have almost given up hope or expectation of anything.  So this year I have resolved to face each day with anticipation and excitement of what God is going to do.  I will face the day with, “This is the day that you have made, Lord, what are you going to do today, what doors are you going to open, what prayers are you going to answer, what opportunities are you going to send my way?” and expect it.  I challenge you to do the same.

I pray you have a victorious 2015 and a blessed week.

Thank you fro sharing this art Karen - I was not going to have a 'word for the year' when I first heard about it three years ago, but God has had other ideas, and this year he most unexpectedly gave me Peace - way before I had even seriously thought about it!! The verse that is mine to accompany that is John 14:27.
Blessings

Hello Karen! I was touched by your your wonderful message on "trusting" vs. "believing". Thank you for sharing what the Lord spoke into your heart. It reminded me of something a Christian missionary wrote about when she was facing a difficult situation. She asked the Lord to provide for a need she had and this is what she said in her prayer, "Lord, I stand on tip toe waiting to see how You will provide my need."

I read that missionary's statement many years ago, but I've never forgotten it ... truly she was praying with confident expectation, wasn't she? And of course the Lord answered her prayer and provided in a wonderful way.

Blessings!
