Papercraft Memories: John 11:25 WORDart by Karen for WAW personal use

I spent last week painting my kitchen/dining/family room walls and trim.  It’s one big room and it hasn’t been painted for 11 years.  That’s a long time for a room that has been used by 8+ people all day, every day to go without being painted.  Let’s just say it was long overdue.  As I was painting, I was looking at all the scuffs and marks on the wall that would never come off even though I tried many times to remove them.  It was so exciting to me to see them covered up and the wall looking so fresh and clean.  I was reminded that that is what the blood of Jesus does for me.  My heart gets dirty, scuffed and marked up by life and I need a fresh coat of His blood to cover my heart.  My sins and shortcomings can’t be cleaned up by me no matter how hard I try to do it on my own. I am so thankful that Christ paid the price for me and He was willing to die that I might have a new life in Him.  His death means nothing without His resurrection; that is what gives us that new life in Him.  We die to our sin as He died on the cross and we rise in new life as He rose from the dead.  But as great as that is, it is just the beginning…the beginning of a wonderful relationship with Jesus Christ as our Saviour.  He wants to be a part of our every day life, not just a once and done deal.  My wall looks fantastic, but I know that it won’t stay that way forever.  I will need to go wipe up spots and scrub off scuffs, and maybe even touch it up, to keep it looking clean.  I am thankful that I can go to Him over and over when my heart gets dirty, scuffed and abused, and He is merciful and kind and patient with me as He cleans and renews my heart once more.

Have a blessed day. Thank you for stopping by.
