When I saw this scripture today, I thought of when my oldest son was younger…like 18 years younger…and he had this fascination with the Lion King. Everything in his room was either lion or some type of safari animal. He would pretend that he was a lion for hours. I can promise you that he never thought of a lion going without, but as an animal of prey that would never suffer hunger. As we get older and we realize that life is not as simple as we so easily believed when we were younger, we have opportunities to learn that God provides our every need. When we seek the Lord with our whole heart, He makes sure that we do not lack the things that we need. God knows what is best for us and always provides those things that are beneficial to us. Sometimes the things we think are good things for us are the very things that will cause us pain, so if you ever find yourself wondering why a door closed that you thought for sure was the right one, be thankful.
