Happy Thursday!
Today is the first week of your requested WORDart. I have received some really great scripture requests, and I am so excited about creating the WORDart for you.

I create most of my WORDart using the King James Version and love that translation of the Bible. That is what I use for my Bible Study and reading, but I also really enjoy the Amplified version as well. The Amplified version attempts to take both word meaning and context into account in order to accurately translate the original text from one language into another. The Amplified Bible does this through the use of explanatory alternate readings and amplifications to assist the reader in understanding what Scripture really says. Multiple English word equivalents to each key Hebrew and Greek word clarify and amplify meanings that may otherwise have been concealed by the traditional translation method. (Italics – quote taken from Biblegateway.com.)
This scripture in the Amplified version reads, 8 Blessed (happy, [m]enviably fortunate, and [n]spiritually prosperous—possessing the [o]happiness produced by the experience of God’s favor and especially conditioned by the revelation of His grace, regardless of their outward conditions) are the pure in heart, for they shall see God! (Biblegateway.com) I’ve honestly never really thought about what the word “blessed” meant before. I consider myself very blessed, and I thank God for His blessings every day, but I’ve never stopped to consider what that word meant in this scripture. The Bible says, “Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.” To me, seeing God is blessing enough, but when I look at the meaning of blessed, well, I want that, too. Happy, enviably fortunate, spiritually prosperous-possessing happiness produced by the experience of God’s favor and especially conditioned by the revelation of His grace, regardless of outward conditions…that brings tears to my eyes. I want that! I know it is not possible to be pure in heart on my own, we are carnal and sinful by nature. I need Him! I need His cleansing, His blood, His forgiveness, His wisdom and guidance every day. I long to see Him and I long to be pure in heart.
Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Karen, I have to agree that the KJV is the most poetic. It was all there was when I was a child so many of the scriptures in my memory are KJ. I have nothing against other versions; I think they are great; but it kind of throws me off when I hear something like Psalm 23 in another version of the bible. Even though I questioned the "The Lord is my shepherd. I shall not want." when I was a kid. :) No one explained what it really meant.
Thanks for this beautiful word art.
Blessing hugs,
Teresa
Thank you for your art, Karen, and amen to your words!!
Blessings
