WORDart Cards

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAI started this card with a base of Curious Poison Ivory cardstock.  This cardstock has a really nice shimmer to it that is impossible to capture in a photo.  I stamped the tree trunk in Burnt Umber.  I first inked the leaf stamp with Momento New Sprout ink and then tapped the stamp with Bamboo Leaves randomly to give it some depth.  I inked the grass stamp with Bamboo Leaves and stamped twice.  I sponged Antique Linen distress ink over the entire card and more heavily on the edges.  For the WORDart, I printed it onto the same cardstock die cut with the Fillable Frames 11 die after changing the color to a dark brown.  I sponged it the same way as the card and stamped some leaves with Bamboo Leaves ink.  I wanted to add just a pop of color so I stamped the bird onto the tree using Lady Bug.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA I wanted to try something different so I die cut the center of this card using a Spellbinders rectangle die.  I then ran the card front through the Cuttlebug with the Diamonds impression plate.  I die cut a piece of brown cardstock using the same die as the card front and adhered it through the front to ensure that it was perfectly centered.  I then die cut a piece of blue cardstock using a slightly smaller rectangle die and printed my WORDart onto it after changing the color to match the brown cardstock.  I adhered the blue cardstock with foam tape to add dimension.  I wanted to add something to the front while still keeping the card simple so I die cut some leaves from cork paper and stamped the leaf image onto them.  To add a little something-something, I traced the image with a Stardust glitter pen.  I adhered the leaves so they overlapped the frame but did not interfere with opening the card.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThis is what the card looks like open.  You should be able to click on the picture to make it clearer.
