A Father’s Day Card

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I know that Father’s Day is over, but I thought I would share this card anyways.  I also have another one to share later in the week.

I used the Woodgrain background stamp in Versamark ink to stamp the background on kraft cardstock.  The main image is from Through the Trees and is stamped on Rustic Cream cardstock.  I used Versamark to stamp the image and them embossed it with Transcendence embossing powder.  I then used a sponge and Kaleidacolor Fresh Greens ink to add color to it.  I stamped the little bird in pure poppy ink.  I cut the border with the eyelet die from Dotty Biscotti paper and threaded some Simply Chartreuse twill ribbon through it.  The sentiment is from Masculine Motifs and is stamped in Simply Chartreuse on Kraft cardstock.  I die cut it with a Spellbinders label die and inked the edges with Chai vintage ink and adhered it to my card with foam tape.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Karen, I love your card! Love the resist embossing, stamps, bird & the woodgrain background. But what caught my attention the most was the ribbon weaving through the eyelet border. That is so cool! I've got to try that.

Great card. I love the emboss resist on the trees. The ribbon through the eyelet trim is a great accent.

So well done, Karen! The emboss-resist technique lends itself so well to Through the Trees images, and I love your take on it. I've been meaning to give your ribbon treatment here a try. I wasn't sure how it would look but now I can see that it looks great! Definitely a keeper! Just a perfect Father's Day card, Karen!
