“Be still, and know that I am God.” The word “know” in this verse does not just mean to know or understand that there is a God. It means to have a relationship with God, to know him intimately. The only way we can know God intimately is to be still, to stop what we are doing and focus ourselves on Him. When we do that, there is such a peace that comes over us and an unspeakable joy. God begins to show us things we would never have noticed on our own. In the stillness there is a heavenly sound that fills our souls. God’s love for us is so amazing! To think that He would care about me and want to know me intimately is incredibly humbling.
The card~
I started with a card base of Ripe Avocado that I embossed with the Woodgrain impression plate. I cut a strip of kraft cardstock and stamped it with a leaf impression from Masculine Motifs using Versamark ink. I sponged the edges with Creamy Brown chalk ink. The focal image is from Through the Trees and is stamped in Ripe Avocado on Spring Moss cardstock. I also inked the edges with the same ink as the kraft layer. I rounded the edges and added some Ripe Avocado cardstock cut with the rickrack border die. The WORDart is printed onto Rustic Cream cardstock, cut to size and I used a square punch to make the flag. I added some branches punched out of Ripe Avocado behind it and attached it with glue dots bending it a little to leave some space for added dimension. For finishing touches, I added a button tied with twine to the sentiment and some twine to the focal image.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a blessed day!

what a pretty card, Karen. This is a great card for a guy with the trees and twine.
This is so serene, Karen! Love what you did to accent the verse!!!
Oh Karen, this is stunning. I love the colors and details. Definitely makes one want to be still. So beautiful.
This is beautiful Karen!
Beautiful Karen, the whole thing just works so well together.

Such a calming card Karen - I love the passage you have used with the combination of the trees and the stamped background.
Hee--I *just* made a card with this verse a few days ago! GMTA! We tend to be so busy talking TO God that we don't take the time to sit still and just listen. (That's certainly true for me and I think that's why I happened to use this scripture recently.) Karen, this is a perfect guy/spiritual card and those can be *hard* to do. Great use of the ric rac to ground the trees!
I love all the bits of texture and design on every element from bottom to the top finished off with that twine - just lovely.
This is such a beautiful card! I love the woodgrain background!
Love how serene this card is. Goes perfectly with your verse. :)
