Sending a Smile

My son is spending a couple of weeks in New Hampshire with his grandparents. I made a card to send him to let him know how much we are missing him. I started with kraft cardstock and stamped Background Basics: Retro's circle stamp in Burnt Umber across the center. I then used a Copic B99 marker to color in the center circles to match my blue cardstock. I stamped a Fancy Flourishes stamp twice, once on the top and once on the bottom of the strip I had created. For the main image I stamped the flourish from Everyday Classics in Spring Rain and the bird from the same set in Burnt Umber. The wing was stamped in Enchanted Evening, cut out and adhered with a piece of foam tape. The sentiment from Everyday Button Bits was stamped in Enchanted Evening. I then cut out the image with a Long Rectangles nesties die and matted it onto some Enchanted Evening cardstock cut with a scalloped long rectangles nestie. I lightly inked the edges of the cardstock and the main image piece with Chamomile ink. I like the way it turned out and this sentiment was just perfect for the occasion.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a blessed day!

Love your card.....The craft cardstock is one of my favourite looks but for whatever reason seldom use it. You gave me the inspiration to pull some out....TFS

Cute card....simple but lots of WOW! You'll have to explain to me how you use those distressing pads from PTI....I just end up blobbing them and you made it look so nice :)

You continue to impress me with your attention to details. I love how you colored in the circle centers to bring in more of the blue. Awesome.
