The Design D.I.V.A.S. Challenge hosted by Kristi is to alter an item in any holiday theme. The first thing that came to mind was coasters. I LOVE making coasters. I intended to make one with a Christmas theme but then my brother-in-law asked me to come up with something to give the fathers for Father's Day at the church he pastors. I thought what father wouldn't like his very own coaster. The name of his church is Lighthouse Christian Fellowship, so I pulled out my lighthouse stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms. I lightly sanded the tile and cleaned it off really well. I stamped the image in Black Staz-on and colored it with Prismacolor pencils and Bic Mark-it markers. I love these markers for coloring on coasters, they are so vibrant. I stamped the sentiment from Father Knows Best and the name with JustRite Brayton font. This is my practice one. I am not in love with my coloring job and I think that the sentiment needs to come up a little, but I really like this idea for Father's Day. I plan to include a stand with each coaster so they would have the option to display it or use it as a coaster. What do you think?
Have a great day!

This is great-what a clever idea-even your prototype is fine in my mind!
I love this, this is so pretty. What an awesome job.
What a wonderful idea! This would be a nice thing for my girls to make their Dad for Father's Day. He could put it on his desk at work. Thanks for the inspiration!
Great idea Karen! But I also love that tree (masculine) card you made.. I have a passion for trees. Very nice.
Outstanding!! I love how you used the lighthouse. :)
I have had coasters in my things to alter drawer for over a year and have not gotten to them yet. You coaster is wonderful and is an excellent gift!
