Stationary Basket

I made a stationary basket for the Silent Auction at my church. It included 10 cards-2 for 5 different occasions-10 notecards and 20 matching envelopes. This is one of the cards I made. I used Damask Designs to make this set. I stamped the damask in black and the sentiment in Raspberry Fizz. I also added a pink rhinestone from my cell phone bling collection.
I made the notecard one layer. I stamped the damask strip on the top and stamped the large damask off the cardstock. I stamped Take note in the corner and matted it on black cardstock. I tied the cards, notecards and envelopes with raspberry fizz grosgrain ribbon and placed them in a basket filled with matching Easter grass. I was so excited when I found matching grass! I also included a pen & pencil set and 20 stamps. I printed the contents of the basket from my computer and die cut it with Labels One for the tag. I love the color scheme of black and white and a pop of bright pink. So fun.

Ok, so out of curiousity, what would you be willing to bid on a basket like this? I am really curious what the highest bid will be. I had so much fun putting this together and I'm considering maybe making some for craft shows, but I have no idea what to price it at. I would really appreciate feedback from other crafters as to what would be a good price for just the stationary without the pen & pencil set and the stamps.

Thanks for visiting my blog today. Have a blessed day!

Beautiful set! You've got so much in there, it's fabulous!

I would bid on a basket like that. I love raspberry fizz with black and white.

Selling just the stationery (10 cards, 10 notecards and 20 envelopes)... I'm thinking $35range for a handmade set. What do you think? Too high/low? I'm terrible at pricing.

Oh and you will probably be surprised at what your basket ends up going for at auction. I buy those $1 buckets at target and put a dozen mini cookies inside in a cellophane bag. I tie nice ribbon on it and hang a tag from the bucket handle and those things usually go for $15 each.

gosh, this is a beautiful basket! I have a thing about the damask images, and these are great! and of course pink and black ALWAYS go together!
I was thinking $40-$50 for the basket, but that would be with the pens and such.

Your basket is absolutely adorable..the cards are beautiful! What a great gift for someone.

Regarding charity auctions, I always think people will pay more just for the 'charitable' aspect alone - for your basket I would say $30-$40.

When it comes to craft fairs, many people there are other crafters looking for ideas to CASE. And in my experience, people are generally looking for a nice item at a bargain. Just my thoughts from my experience...

I will have to say with the 20 US Stamps and pen and pencil set, the starting bid should be $25 and could sell for $60-$75 easily! Awesome Job, as always.

Oh and price wise-I would think 35-50 but what do I know-I have some of those cello easter basket bags-I would love to see you wrap it up and put a bow on it that would be so cool-if you want me to mail you one I will! I didn't ned them for Easter.

Karen, this set is so classy and elegant - love the black with the pink pop and that damask stamp is gorgeous! The general rule of thumb is 4 times the cost of your materials for retail (2 times for wholesale)and then what the market will bear. Sometimes you can get more, sometimes less. I think Peggy made some really good points. Have I thoroughly confused you now?? Have a great weekend, these cards are just beautiful!

Hi Karen~

This set is superb! The Damask stamp is awesome. Can you please let me know what company it is from? I think that your items look so elegant the way that you made them. The sparkle of the rhinestone, bows, pens the attention to details, really makes this lovely! I love the colors!

Thank you for sharing. At a charity auction I think $35-$45 would be the answer?

What did it end up being?
