Psalm 119:165 WORDart

Happy Thursday!  Here is the WORDart download for this week.  I am very thankful for the peace that I get when I read His word.  It seems like no matter how tough life feels in the moment, if I can just find a few minutes to get lost in the word of God everything feels like it’s going to be ok.  I love God’s word!

I didn’t have time to make anything with the WORDart this week.  Actually, I might have if my computer didn’t shut down on me before I saved the WORDart.  I lost all my work and the time I spent and had to start over…so frustrating.  I am terrible at remembering to save my work as I go, maybe now I will remember.

I had a great week with my parents.  They came to see their great granddaughter for the first time.  Everyone came over to spend time with them and we had 14 people for dinner.  I loved having all of my family together under the same roof.  We pulled out baby pictures and compared Jaliyah to them to see who she looks like.  She looks a lot like her dad when he was a baby.  Such wonderful memories were made this week and I will treasure every single one.

Thanks so much for stopping by my little blog.

Romans 8:38,39 WORDart and a printable

Life is so uncertain.  We make plans, have dreams and set goals, but we are never promised tomorrow.  Just when it seems I get the most comfortable with my life something happens to remind me of just how uncertain life is.  There is one thing of which I can be absolutely certain and that is the love of Christ.  I desperately need His love in my life and I am so very thankful that nothing can separate me from Him.

Here is the WORDart for this week.  I have been admiring Subway Art for so long.  I decided to try my hand at it.  Just click on the image to take you to the download.

Here is a card I made using the WORDart.  It is sized at 4 x 5.25 so all I had to do was print, trim and mat and my card was finished.  I matted it onto red cardstock and then onto silver metallic before adhering it to the white card base.

I also have free printable for you as well.  I wanted to make it “official” Subway Art so I added a black background and grunged it up a bit.  It is 8 1/2 x 11.  Just click on the image to download.

I have started a board on Pinterest for items made with my WORDart, so if you are looking for inspiration feel free to check it out.  If you need an invite to join Pinterest, send me an email and I would be happy to send you one.

Love Map

I saw something like this on Pinterest and was inspired to make my own version for my daughter and son-in-law.

Love Map

I just Googled the locations on Google maps and printed them.  I die cut the maps using heart dies and then matted them onto red cardstock cut from scalloped heart dies (Spellbinders).

I measured the glass from the frame I used and made a Photoshop document that size.  I determined the center and the placement of the hearts, then typed the info and centered “Happily Ever After” on the bottom.  I cut thin poster board the size of my frame and printed directly onto it.  I have a Canon MP640 printer and had no problem at all.  It just takes a very long time to dry and will smudge if you don’t let it sit.  Don’t ask me how I know this.  I let it sit for about half and hour and then used my heat gun to be sure it was really dry the second time around. ;) I then just had to adhere the hearts in the appropriate places and it was finished.

Here it is hanging on the wall.

Hope you all have a fabulous Valentine’s Day with your loved ones.  Valentine’s Day is a family affair at our house.  I always make a really nice dinner and set the table all fancy and make my husbands favorite cake in a heart shaped pan.  It’s a day everyone looks forward to and I cherish the memories that are made.

I have also created a printable for you.

…and I actually made a card using the printable image.

1 John 4:19 card

I resized it to fit an A2 card.  I’ll be honest, it messed with the polka dots just a little but I decided to just go with it anyways.  You can download that file here.   I printed it onto Vintage Cream cardstock, trimmed it and distressed the edges.  I then matted it onto Raspberry Fizz and adhered it to the kraft card base.  I just added some lace and a raspberry fizz heart border (made using the heart border die) and some gems to finish it off.

Valentine Decor

I thought I would share my Valentines décor with you.  Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite holidays.  I love the colors…and the hearts…and the candy—all of it.  It is also a day that’s very special to my husband and I because that is when he asked me to spend the rest of his life with me and, of course, I said “yes!”  My husband considers that our true anniversary—he’s so cute.  It is so hard to believe that was 24 years ago this Valentine’s Day.

Valentines Mantle

This is how I decorated my mantle for Valentine’s this year.  I kept the aquas that I used for Christmas and added the red.  I dream of painting the mantle a lovely creamy white someday, but until then…

love frames

My L-O-V-E frames that I painted heirloom white.  They are 5x7.  I added some scrapbook paper behind the glass then hot glued some wooden letters that I got from Hobby Lobby. They are covered with Martha Stewart garnet glitter.  By using hot glue to adhere the letters, I can easily remove them and use the frames for something else.  (I used the letters J-O-Y for Christmas, but forgot to take a picture.)

vintage painted books

Here is a close-up of the painted books that I posted about here

valentines vignette

A little vignette I pulled together (all made with Dollar Store finds)…with the Precious Moment figurine my husband gave me for our wedding.

painted cherub

…and I just had to include a picture of this little cherub that I painted with heirloom white!  I love it!

John 3:16 WORDart

Happy Thursday!  The theme for the WORDart for the month of February is “love”.  I couldn’t think of a better way to start the month off than with a scripture about God’s love for us.  I am so thankful for His love for me.  I can not even comprehend loving anyone as much as He loves me.  His love is amazing!

John 3:16

Thank you for all the congrats and well wishes on the birth of our granddaughter.  She is doing great and her looks have already changed so much.  She’s absolutely beautiful—and I am not the least bit biased. Winking smile
