I pray your day is blessed with family and friends, joy and laughter, peace and warmth and that above all you take the time to reflect on those blessings in your life.  There is so much to be thankful for…in everything give thanks.

Thankful Am I

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Last year I made an Advent candy jar for my kids.  They were able to eat one chocolate a day until Christmas.  I decided to do a little twist on that idea and make a thankful jar.  I stamped the background and leaf onto white address labels then used my printer to print things that I was thankful for.  I then wrapped them around the chocolates.

Here is a picture of the chocolates all dolled up.

Psalm 68:19 WORDart

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I am so thankful for the benefits of the Lord.  He gives me so much…comfort, love, peace, joy, protection, guidance, earthly necessities and even the desires of my heart.  But absolutely nothing could ever compare with the greatest gift of all – Salvation!  I am so thankful for the hope that gives me.

I printed the WORDart onto a Vintage Cream base in black.  I found this really great felt at Joann’s that cuts with dies beautifully.  I used the Victorian Lace border die to cut it.  I stopped by this little fabric store not far from my house yesterday and found some really great trims, so I just had to buy some to use on my cards. One of them is the trim you see on this card.  I colored some clear rhinestones with Copics to match and added them randomly.

For some reason when I upload my pictures lately it really messes up the colors.  It looks so pretty in real life and the colors are so vibrant but on the screen it just really dulls the color.  I wish I new how to fix that…so frustrating!

Anyhow, you can download the WORDart HERE.

Have a blessed day!

Deck the Halls Blog Hop

TAC Deck the Halls Blog Hop

Welcome to my little spot in The Angel Company’s Deck the Halls Blog Hop.   I made a coaster set using this adorable stamp set Perky Penguins.

TAC penguin coasters 1

These are the first two in the set.  I stamped the images with black Staz-On ink onto ceramic tiles.  I also stamped snowflakes from Ornamental Snowflakes with Brilliance ink.  I then baked them in the oven at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes.  After they cooled, I colored them with Bic Mark-It permanent markers.  I really like using these for tiles as the colors stay so vibrant.  You could probably use Copic markers, but I haven’t tried them for this yet.  I guess I am more comfortable sticking with what I have used successfully in the past.  After coloring them, I baked them again for about 15 minutes.  I then sprayed them with two coats of clear gloss acrylic spray.  I usually use a matte spray on my coaster tiles, but I wanted a little shine to them and this worked perfectly.

TAC penguin coasters 2

Here are the other two coasters in the set.  You can see the snowflakes a little better in this picture.  For the snowflakes, I used Brilliance Platinum Planet and Moonlight White ink.   I then added some felt to the bottom of the tiles so they would not scratch any surfaces.  It also adds a really nice finished look to them.

Here they are all bundled up ready for gift giving.  I just wrapped some Baker’s twine a couple times around them and tied it in a little bow.  I love how cute they turned out.

Matthew 2:10 WORDart card

Matthew 2_10 WORDart card I was finally able to finish my WORDart card for this week.  So sorry for the delay.  I will have a bunch of new things to share with you soon, so hopefully that will make up for it.
I used Perky Penguins by The Angel Company.  They are soooo adorable.  I used Prismacolor pencils to color it.  I made a little snowbank for him with glitter and then used a glue pad to make the glitter snowflakes.  A touch of yellow Stickles made that little star sparkle.   The snowflake border was made by using the Snowflake trim punch and white glitter paper that looks amazing in real life but doesn’t show up in the picture at all…so disappointing.
Supplies
Stamp – Perky Penguins by The Angel Company,  Matthew 2:10 WORDart by Karen
Ink – Momento  Tuxedo Black
Paper – kraft, white,  new leaf, paper from my Christmas stash, white glitter paper (DCWV)
Other – Labels One and Labels Four dies (Spellbinders), blue adhesive gems, The Essential Glue Pad (Tsukineko), snowflake trim punch (Martha Stewart), shimmer chalk, yellow Stickles, glitter
I pray your day is a blessed one!

Matthew 2:10 WORDart

I got a little carried away yesterday making Christmas gifts and did not get my WORDart card made.  However, I did get the WORDart itself made so I am sharing it in its jpg format.  Can you tell I have Christmas on the brain?  I thought I would make some WORDart we could use on Christmas cards and projects.  I would love to hear from you if there is a scripture you would like to  see made into WORDart.

Some Girly Birthday Cards

Catelynn Girlz birthday My daughter’s friend was having a birthday so we had some mother/daughter card making time.  We both used stamps and paper by The Angel Company.   My card uses the Girlz & Boyz stamp set and hers the Mini Joy Limited Edition stamp.  We both used the Catelynn paper. Isn’t is beautiful?  I love it!

I think she did a great job, although the photography needs a little work.   She will far surpass me before too long.

I Peter 5:7 WORDart

I Peter 5_7

I am so thankful for a Lord and Savior who takes all of my cares upon Himself.  I have learned that He handles my cares much better than I ever could.  He not only carries my burdens but He has the resources to meet my every need whether it is physical, emotional, spiritual, or financial.  He has it all covered.  What an awesome God!!!!

I decided to do something different this week and make a tag with the WORDart.  I printed it out and used the long rectangle nestibilities to die cut it.  I started with a large manila tag that I purchased at an office supply store and covered it with patterned paper.  I then folded a doily over the front and onto the back.  The flower is a silk flower that I colored with Shimmerz Spritz and then added the pearl brad.  I used a butterfly punch to cut the butterflies and added some pearl gems to it.

I Peter 5_7 close-up Here is a close up of the WORDart.

You can download the WORDart here if you would like to use it in your projects.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today, I hope it was a blessing to you.
