Simple Circles

I was just playing around with Circle Sampler and Tag Tidbits and made this very simple card. I think I like it. I apologize for the lousy lighting and the shadows in the photo. Well, that's all I have for today. I am busy, busy, busy trying to wrap up the school year and finish some projects I am working on.

Have a great day!

Stationary Basket

I made a stationary basket for the Silent Auction at my church. It included 10 cards-2 for 5 different occasions-10 notecards and 20 matching envelopes. This is one of the cards I made. I used Damask Designs to make this set. I stamped the damask in black and the sentiment in Raspberry Fizz. I also added a pink rhinestone from my cell phone bling collection.
I made the notecard one layer. I stamped the damask strip on the top and stamped the large damask off the cardstock. I stamped Take note in the corner and matted it on black cardstock. I tied the cards, notecards and envelopes with raspberry fizz grosgrain ribbon and placed them in a basket filled with matching Easter grass. I was so excited when I found matching grass! I also included a pen & pencil set and 20 stamps. I printed the contents of the basket from my computer and die cut it with Labels One for the tag. I love the color scheme of black and white and a pop of bright pink. So fun.

Ok, so out of curiousity, what would you be willing to bid on a basket like this? I am really curious what the highest bid will be. I had so much fun putting this together and I'm considering maybe making some for craft shows, but I have no idea what to price it at. I would really appreciate feedback from other crafters as to what would be a good price for just the stationary without the pen & pencil set and the stamps.

Thanks for visiting my blog today. Have a blessed day!

Dream

I decided to play around a little with my Walnut Inks. I stamped the image from Love & Laughter in Versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder. I then lightly sprayed the Walnut inks. Lightly is the keyword here, you don't want to see how my first one turned out. It was a disaster. I sprayed cornflower on the top, then willow on the bottom and a fine layer of eucalyptus on the very bottom. I then wiped off the tree image. My kids were watching me do this and thought it was so cool when the ink just wiped right off the embossed image. I used my heat gun to speed up the drying time, but still needed to let it set for a little while before I felt really confident handling it. After it was dry, I stamped the word Dream from the Small Sentiments Limited Edition stamp set. I wrapped the ribbon around, tied it in a bow and matted it onto brown cardstock. I adhered it to my card base of Kraft cardstock and added by button threaded with hemp twine from the Sophia Buttons & Blossoms collection.

I really enjoyed experimenting with the Walnut Inks and can't wait to explore all the possibilities.

Have a blessed day!

Two in One Challenge Completed!

I am so behind on challenges. The wedding really set me back, but I was able to get two in one finished with a project I had to complete anyways. Love it when that happens. So this little bookmark meets the requirements of Carmen's Quote/Verse Challenge and the Divine Design Bible Verse Challenge. I was down for the Book Theme Basket for the Silent Auction our ladies are doing at my church, and I needed to make a bookmark. I used With Sympathy and Everyday Blessings. I colored over the butterfly with a Stardust clear pen. It doesn't show at all in the photo, but in real life it is quite dazzling.
And here is the completed basket. I typed up the items in the basket on my computer, cut it out using Labels One and tied it onto the basket with hemp twine. I made a Stationary Basket as well. I will be sharing that with you next week.

The weather here is finally sunny. It is so nice to wake up and see the sun and not have to where a jacket when you go outside. The flowers are blooming and the grass is green. I just love spring.

Have a beautiful weekend!

Happy Birthday to You!

This card was inspired by Becca of Amazing Paper Grace (LOVE her blog). I fell in love with the cards she made here for the JustRite Stampers blog. I love being able to personalize my cards and JustRite stamps are so perfect for that. I used Basic Grey Granola paper as my starting point and then planned everything else around that.

I used a magnet sheet that I bought at AC Moore and cut to size to hold my nesties dies in place. It made it so easy to keep the dies lined up and I was able to cut everything at the same time. I popped the label one piece up on foam tape and then doubled the foam tape to pop up the circle.

I used the Designer Centers and Borders for the circle. I cut part of the border away to be able to put the name on the circle. It was very easy to do this and I was careful so that I will be able to add the piece on the grid and still stamp a complete circle. I stamped the center separately so I could stamp in a different color and then die cut it and mat it.
For the inside, I added strips of paper from the front and stamped the sentiment. The little leaves are from Borders and Corners {Square}. The butterfly is from the same punch I used on the front, just glued flat.

Thanks for visiting my blog!

True Beauty

I had a great Easter and hope you all did as well. It was a really enjoyable day. My daughter and her new husband came over for dinner after church. It was nice to have them here. She took over my computer all afternoon to print wedding pictures to put in her office at work. She is so excited about showing them off. I can't say that I blame her any. She is so happy and you can tell she is really enjoying married life. I am so proud of her.
I am sharing a card today made with the True Beauty set by The Angel Company. I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils and OMS and I decided it needed some sparkle. I used all kinds of things on this card before I got it to look as sparkly as I had envisioned it to look. I added microbeads to the butterfly and flower centers and then I sprayed some pearl glimmer mist on top of the whole image. I still didn't think it shimmered enough so I added some Shimmerz to it. I used iced lavender on the butterfly and painted the flowers with December Sky Blingz. I think I also added some Angel Wings Shimmerz to the flower centers. Anyways, after all of that, I love the way it turned out and it was a lot of fun. It really does shimmer and is so pretty.
Here is a close-up that shows the shimmer a little better. The pattern paper is DCWV pocket full of posies. I inked the edges with Spring Pansy Versamagic Chalk ink. I punched a border with Martha Stewart's doily lace border punch and adhered the panel with foam tape to add dimension. The main image is also inked with the same ink and distressed. I also adhered this layer with foam tape. The ribbon is from the bridal section at Target.

Have a blessed day!

Embrace Happiness

Happy Saturday! I was playing around with the With Sympathy set and this is a card I came up with. I stamped the swirl in Spring Moss and the flowers in Berry Sorbet and Plum Pudding. I painted the purple flowers with Iced Lavender Shimmerz. The butterfly was stamped in Beaux Arts Blue and I painted over it and the berry sorbet flowers with Angel Wings Shimmerz. Have you tried Shimmerz yet? That stuff is amazing, but so hard to photograph. When I take my pictures it seems that the shimmer either glares or doesn't show at all. It is so beautiful in real life. I wish I could capture the gentle sparkle of it in a photograph. The sentiment is from Mega Mixed Messages and is stamped in Plum Pudding. Just a simple card, that swirl was just begging me to ink it up. I love it.

I pray all of you have an especially blessed Easter weekend. I am off with my family to an Egg Hunt at our church. The kids are really excited. They get to hang out with their friends and eat candy and watch puppets. What more could a kid ask for?!?!

Birthday Wishes

This is the first time I have used Guide Lines. I don't know why I waited so long. It was so much fun. I did not get it exactly right, if you look closely I am sure you will see that. I still like the way it turned out. I stamped the grid with Aqua Mist onto Aqua Mist cardstock, then stamped two other images from the set in Ripe Avocado and Burnt Umber. I used a white Souffle pen to color the dot in the center of my image. It doesn't show in the picture, but it does add a little dimension to the card. I distressed the edges with my Heidi Swapp edge distresser and then inked the edges with Chestnut Roan Colorbox Chalk and matted it onto Ripe Avocado cardstock. I stamped Birthday wishes from Butterfly Kisses with Ripe Avocado onto the ribbon slide and threaded my ribbon through it before adhering the layer to my card of Dark Chocolate cardstock. The flowers were made using a cuttlebug die. I made one with Aqua Mist and one with Ripe Avocado cardstock and then added the adhesive pearl.

For the inside I adhered a layer of Aqua Mist and stamped a row of a matching element from the front in Burnt Umber.

I can't believe it is Thursday already. This week has really flown by for me. I guess that happens when you stay busy. There always seems to be some new project to tackle. I treasure my creative time, it is such therapy for me. I try to fit it in whereever I can find a few extra minutes. How about you, when do you find the time to be creative?

Have a great day.

Hello Friend

This card uses the fabulous black and white paper that you can download free at The Angel Company website. It also uses the image from the Vintage stamp of the month Mabelle Favorites. I colored it with Prismacolor pencils and OMS and shaded it with a Copic C-1 marker. I cut and embossed it with Spellbinders curved rectangles and matted it onto Summer Sunrise cardstock cut and embossed with a Spellbinders Labels Three die. I adhered my image with dimensionals and added some New Leaf ribbon. The tag is cut with Spellbinders and tied with a piece of embroidery floss. I secured the tag with foam tape so it would stay in place and add dimension.

This stamp set is available only until April 30th. If you are interested in purchasing it feel free to contact me.

Wedding Stuff

I thought I would share the invites I made for my daughter's wedding. I honestly hadn't realized that I hadn't shared them until about a week before the wedding when I was just too busy to photograph them. The card on the bottom is a website card. I scratched out their web address for security purposes. They had a website with info such as directions and info for out of town guests. She told me exactly what she wanted for everything and I did my best to make it the way she described. She loved everything so I guess I did ok. I designed the invite using Photoshop Elements 7. I used Stardream Lapis Lazuli Metallic and Curious Cryogen White cardstocks so it had lots of shimmer. The K on the invite is printed on vellum.
This is the program. It is a little hard to see the monogram, it seems my lighting was off. It's funny how I think it looks fine until I go to post it on my blog and then I notice all of these flaws. I created the monogram using Photoshop Elements 7. I then cut and embossed it with square nesties and adhered it with foam tape to give it some dimension. The cardstock is the same as the invites. These took so long to make because there were so many steps, I thought I would never get them done, but it was worth it. They looked so classy.
The table cards are again the same paper and designed on Photoshop Elements 7. They are A2 size so they were super easy to make and very economical.
All of my cardstock was purchased at www.cutcardstock.com. I have ordered from them several times in the past. They are just amazing to work with. I received my order in just days and I had it cut to size. I even over estimated the amount of cardstock I would need and they called to verify and saved me lots of money. How can you not be impressed with a company like that. I highly recommend them.

Thank you for letting me share this happy event in my family's life and thanks for the kind comments and well wishes. They are much appreciated.
