Zephaniah 3:17 WORDart

Happy Thursday!

First, I want to say how thankful I am for all of the emails and comments I received last week.  You all touched my heart and ministered to me more than you could ever know.  The words were the exact words I needed to hear and I thank God for you.  Things are still the same and that is ok, I know God is walking right beside us and He will not forsake us.

My WORDart this week is from Zephaniah.  If you have never read the book of Zephaniah it’s fascinating; it is very short—only 3 chapters.  The book begins by the Lord declaring His judgment on Judah and Jerusalem and pleading for them to come to repentance.  He was looking for a people that would separate themselves and require the Lord as their first necessity.  As you read on past the judgments and promises of destruction for those who don’t choose Him, you read about the promise of restoration for those who do.  The Lord desires to restore us, to take us out of captivity and to give us joy.  He rejoices over us when we choose to put Him first in our lives.  What a beautiful promise!

I also wanted to say a HUGE thank you to Jennifer from My Cubby Crafts and Teresa from Tickell Expressions  for the Liebster Award.  Thank you ladies so much for thinking of me.

liebster-blog-award11

This is a pay it forward award to be awarded to those who have 200 or less followers.  I have stalled on acknowledging this award because I don’t know who to pass it to.  I know that is horrible, you can go ahead and agree with me.  I hope this does not make me seem ungrateful to the ones who gave it to me, I feel very honored.  I add every blog I like to Google reader and read it using Flipboard on my iphone.  I check it every chance I get—when I am riding in the car, at stoplights when I’m driving the car, making lunch/dinner, waiting on my kids or husband, anytime, anywhere I get a chance.  I have learned that if I do my blog hopping this way then I don’t spend hours on the computer and I can use my “empty” time to read my favorite blogs.  Who else will admit they get lost in blog land, hopping from one blog to another for hours?  So, because I read my blogs this way, I have no idea how many followers each blog has.  I am hoping this weekend to sit down and do some “real” blog hopping and share the love.

I wish you all the best of days today!  Thank you for visiting my blog.

Micah 7:8 WORDart

Happy, happy Thursday!  I hope your week is going well.  We are almost to the weekend and I am really looking forward to it.  My two oldest—I guess I should say middle—children are leaving for youth convention this weekend so I will just have my two youngest home with me.  I am not sure what we will do, but I will find something special to do with them.

Here is the WORDart for this week.  I hope you can find a use for it.

This scripture has been such an encouragement to me recently.  I know in past posts I have mentioned that we have been going through a rough time lately.  My husband’s workplace has been in the process of changing management companies over the past several months. Since he is in the top management position, he is at risk for losing his job.  They have put him through so much junk.  It has been such a stressful time for him (and therefore, for me since he is my man).  Things change on a daily basis and he never knows what to expect when he goes into work each day.  I feel like we have been riding a yo-yo!  It has been so hard to see him lose his passion for a job he once loved; to see the look of dread when he leaves for work each day—it’s heartbreaking.  It is so difficult to see the person you love being mistreated and taken advantage of.  I have to say that I am very proud of my man!  He has kept his head up and when they have put him through things he never should have had to go through, he trusted in God.  Sometimes it is so much easier for us to react as humans and so much harder to give it to God and let him handle it.  I don’t know what the future holds for us, but I do know that God is GOOD ALL THE TIME!  I am thankful for the light that HE sheds in the darkest of times.  These past few weeks have been some of the toughest that we have experienced together.  For my husband for what he has had to deal with, and for me, well, because I feel so helpless to help the one I love more than anyone on earth, but I KNOW that God is in control.

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.  Romans 8:28

I am sorry for the rambling and even the venting that I have done today.  I don’t ever want my blog to be about complaining and venting, but I always want to glorify God in all things.  I pray I have not offended anyone in any way.  If you feel to do so, would you help me pray that God’s will be done in this situation and that He would open doors where He wants us to be.  I would really appreciate your prayers.

Have a blessed day!

Psalm 5:11 WORDart

Happy Thursday!

This week I just can’t seem to shake the overwhelming feeling of thankfulness for a personal relationship with my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  I am so grateful that I don’t need to make an appointment with His secretary to speak with Him, or wait my turn in a long line to see Him.  I can speak to Him whenever I desire, I can cry out to Him when I am feeling pain or despair.  He is always there, waiting on me to come to Him.  I know I can safely put my trust in Him and that He will defend me.  I can rejoice in Him because I know and love His name….JESUS.  He is the one who makes all things possible.  He is the one who gives joy and peace.  He is the one who orders my steps and guides my way.  I need Him every minute of every day.Psalm 5:11 WORDart by Karen

Psalm 5:11 WORDart by Karen card

I made a quick card. I just changed the color of the WORDart and printed it onto Soft Stone cardstock.  I haven’t used patterned paper in so long.  I have an overwhelming amount of it and still fall for beautiful paper every time.  I really should use it more, it makes card making so easy!  This paper is from the Argyle Socks paper pack by Papertrey.

I am loving the weather we have been having lately.  I am so ready for spring.  I can’t wait to get a paintbrush in my hand and start painting some signs I have been wanting to make…and my daughter’s desk.

I pray your week is happy and blessed.

March

Just thought I would share a little of what I have been up to.  I just finished making my March wallpapers for my desktop and iphone/ipad.  I love the way they came out.  I always try to feature the person(s) that have a birthday or important event that month.  In our family there is always someone or something to celebrate.  This month it is our son, Matthew, and our little Pomeranian, Peanut.

I used the March Scrap Kit of the Month by Scrapgirls.com.  It is called Sweet Street Grunge and I absolutely fell in love with it the minute I saw it.  It’s gorgeous!

I am also taking a poster design class by Jessica Sprague.  I am so, so, so far behind, but have already learned so much.  I am really enjoying it, just struggling to fit it in.

I hope your week is off to a great start!

Habakkuk 3:18 WORDart

Happy Thursday!  I can’t believe it is March 1st already!

Our family has been faced with some rather stressful situations in the past couple of weeks.  We are still dealing with them, but I know that God is in control and He will take care of it if we leave it in his very capable hands.  I like how this scripture says, “YET I will rejoice in the Lord, I WILL joy in the God of my salvation.”  We have to make a decision to rejoice and take joy in the knowledge that He is in control and He is our salvation.  Sometimes it’s so much easier to just feel sorry for myself, but that is always a downward spiral.  When I chose to rejoice in Him and trust Him to bring me through it, the situation may not change but my attitude sure does. There are so many times in my life that I can look back and see God’s hand.  When the situation felt impossible to me, God was right there beside me and it only made me stronger in the end.  God has a purpose for everything.  Through the good and the bad, I will rejoice in Him.
