Psalm 30:5b WORDart

I apologize for not having a card this week.  My kids have taken turns with a stomach virus for the past week and were so generous to share  it with me over the weekend.  It is surprising how much that takes out of you.
Thankfully, I am finally starting to feel better.

I hope to make a card sometime in the near future and update this post, in the mean time I thought I would still share the WORDart that I made this week.  This is what it looks like.

Psalm 30_5b You can download it  here.

I would love to see your creations with it so send me a link.

Have a blessed day!

Finally…some wedding pics

IMG_4159The happily wedded couple after the ceremony.  (I was playing with my presets in Lightroom with this picture, still not sure if I like it.)IMG_4128I love this picture!  It is a picture of my son watching as his bride walked down the aisle.  Everyone’s attention was on the bride but I just wanted to capture the look on his face.  I have always been fascinated by the groom’s expression during that part of the ceremony even when I was just a little girl.  It’s very different, though, when it’s your son.

Here they are at the reception…glowing.

DSC_7488I found this picture that someone took of the flower girls.  I totally forgot to take pictures of the flower girl dresses  and the centerpieces I made, and of course, it’s too late now.  I am hoping the photographer captured them.

Our brand new family.

Last, but not least, our family hug picture.  This is another shot that someone took when the photographer was taking his pictures.  I am hoping his came out better.  It’s kind of hard to get that many people in a picture and see all of their faces and have them all looking in the same direction.  I really love this picture and how it captures the joy, fun and laughter of our family.

I hope you enjoyed this little peek into my son’s wedding, so many of you have asked to see pictures.  I am sorry it took so long.  I was so involved with this wedding that I didn’t get the chance to take many pictures and had to raid everyone else’s cameras.

Have a very blessed weekend!

Kona Kid Krafter’s Challenge Blog

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

My daughter and I recently discovered a kid’s challenge blog for kid crafters called Kona Kid Krafter’s.  They have challenges twice a month on the 1st and the 15th for kids ages 2ish-17.  The current challenge is “Anything Goes/Optional add wings”.  Keandra went through all of my stamps and decided to settle on this one, Butterfly Swirls by The Angel Company.  She colored it with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol and colored the background with shimmer chalk.  She then raided my box of bling, because she thinks any card without bling is just not complete.   She also used a glue pen to add some glitter to the butterfly and some of the swirls.   She did everything herself, but she did ask for my assistance to cut her paper straight and tie the bow.   I think she did a pretty good job!

Happy Birthday in Pink

DSC_2688-Edit

I made this card for my daughter’s birthday.  Her favorite color is pink and it is a requirement for her card to be made in that color.  The paper from My Mind’s Eye Home collection was my inspiration.   After tying the raspberry fizz satin polka dot bow around the layers,  I adhered them onto Hibiscus Burst cardstock.  I die cut the mat for the sentiment with the Fillable Frames 10 die and then stamped it with the coordinating stamp with Hibiscus Burst ink.   The sentiment from Simple Little Things was stamped with the same ink onto vellum cut with the Double Ended banner die.  I then creased the banner to make it pop out and added the pink gems which covered the mini glue dots that I used the adhere the vellum.

On the inside, I added some strips of  the patterned paper to match the front and stamped the sentiment and flourishes from Mat Stack 1 Collection in Raspberry Fizz ink.

That’s all for me today.  I hope you are having a wonderful day!

Psalm 30:2 WORDart

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I know so many people, either personally or through someone else who are facing physical hardships right now.  It seems my prayer list grows on a daily basis.  I love this verse because it is so definite, it is so full of faith and promise.  I know that God heals.  I have personal testimonies from the time I was a small child of His healing in my life and the lives of my loved ones.  God has not and will never change.  He is the same yesterday, today and forever and my Bible says that He suffered and died on the cross not only to save us from our sins but to  heal us as well.  We may not understand God’s timing or His decisions, but we can always trust that He knows best.  If He doesn’t heal us right away or even if He chooses not to, He will daily give us the grace and the strength we need.  Jesus loves us more than we could ever possibly comprehend and He cares about where we are in our lives and what we are going through.  He never gives up on us.

You can download this WORDart here, if you would like to use it on your personal projects and cards.

I pray you have a blessed day and that this post has been an encouragement.

Psalm 16:1 WORDart

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I’m back after an extended break to help with my son’s wedding.  It feels so good to be getting back into crafting and blogging again.  I will share more about his wedding in the near future.

This is the scripture I chose for my 2011 scripture.  It is my prayer for this year.  The word “preserve” in this scripture means to place a hedge around, to guard, protect, to attend to.  I so desire for God to preserve me and keep me through whatever may come my way in the days ahead.  Life is so uncertain, but God is everlasting, a rock I can plant my feet on and know that I am secure in Him.  How awesome to know that I can put my trust in Him and He will take care of me.  Does that mean that everything will be perfect?  Absolutely not!  Life is life, no matter who you are, but it does mean that I don’t have to go through it alone.  That someone bigger than me has my back.  The God who spoke the universe into existence loves me enough to attend to my needs.  How awesome is that?

You can download the WORDart here.  As always it is in jpg and png formats.

I also have made it into an SVG file.  You can download the SVG file HERE.  I haven’t had the chance to cut it yet, so if you use it let me know how it cuts for you.  Are you interested in having the WORDart in SVG format?  I would love to hear from you if you are.

I pray you truly have a blessed day.  Are you struggling with something?  Have a fear or concern that seems overwhelming? Ask God to preserve you and keep you and put your trust in Him.
