The Right Pair of Shoes

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I saw a tile like this on the Cricut board a while ago and had to make my own version of it.  In pink, of course!  I designed the file in SCAL.

Have a  wonderful weekend!

A Found Treasure

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I was going through my pictures on the computer and found this card that I haven’t shared yet, so today is the day!  I made it some time ago and didn’t write down the supplies I used.  I am guessing from the picture that it is Hawaiian Shores cardstock stamped with the A Little  Argyle dotted stamp in Versamark.  It looks like the Mat Stack 1 die was used to cut Raspberry Fizz cardstock and it was stamped with the Round and Round Anniversary set using Versamark as well.  The center circle also uses the Round and Round set and is stamped with Raspberry Fizz ink with some glitter added to the edges.  A bow made from Raspberry Fizz saddle stitch ribbon tied with some floss colored to match with Copic markers finishes it off nicely.  I’m guessing by the “Mother” stamped tag that I made this for Mother’s Day.

I hope you are enjoying your day!

Psalm 3:3 WORDart

Psalm 3_3 WORDart

I am so  glad that when I am feeling down and discouraged that the Lord lifts my head.  He is my encourager and my shield from harm.

I printed the WORDart onto kraft cardstock, then brushed some ink around the edges to distress it a little.  I cut some burgandy felt with the medium scallop border die and adhered it with Scor Tape.  My gingham “ribbon” is some fabric that I had.  I just ripped it into strips and pulled off some strings around the edges to give it that worn, distressed look.  Then I just added some buttons tied with twine.

You can download the WORDart here if you would like to use it.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a blessed day.

Anything But A Card

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Isn’t this saying just beautiful?  After 22 years of marriage, this is still the way I feel about my husband.

This is a 6 inch tile that I made.   I used SCAL 2 to cut the vinyl from an SVG file I purchased from My Vinyl Designer.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Teapot Thank You

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAI made this card some time ago and forgot to write down all the supplies before I sent it out, so I am going to try to remember based on the picture.  I started with kraft and impressed the grid lines using the letterpress technique.  I used Vintage Cream to ink up the Guide Lines impression plate.  I didn’t worry about getting ink on the plate as I wanted a distressed look on the card.  I then swiped the pad along the edges.  I stamped the little teapot in Summer Sunrise  in random squares.  I used the Mat Stack 3 die as my focal point.  I stamped it in Aged Mahogany and then cut a circle from the bitty dots paper to put in the center.  The teapot die was used the cut the Autumn Aubundance paper and then it was adhered with foam tape and some buttons added. I stamped the sentiment and adhered it over the Summer Sunrise ribbon, then added a Scarlet Jewel button with a clear rhinestone on top.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA   On the inside, I stamped the little teacup in the bottom right corner.  It looks huge in this picture, but it’s really not.

Philippians 4:13 WORDart

Philippians 4:13 WORDart

It is so good to know that I am not on my own, but that through Christ I can do all things.  He strengthens me!  I sure know I couldn’t  make it through some days on my own strength, that’s for sure!

A very simple card today!  I haven’t had much time to play lately, so this is a quick and easy one.  I printed out the WORDart as well as the black border design I added onto kraft cardstock.   I then added some strips of paper and some buttons tied with twine.  The butterflies were punched from the same paper with a Martha Stewart butterfly punch and some bling added to them.   That’s it!  Sorry for the bad picture, I had to take it on a rainy day and the colors just aren’t showing up as vibrant as they should.

You can download the WORDart here.

Anything But A Card

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

It’s that time of year when we start thinking about Christmas gifts, so I thought I would use Saturday blog posts to share some gifts that I have made.  This is a dinner plate  that I vinyled.  I created this design using SCAL 2 software and cut the vinyl with my Cricut Expression.  I think this would make a wonderful Christmas gift, what do you think?

Have a blessed weekend!

A Froggy Birthday

I just realized I forgot to post to my blog today!

My son’s birthday was last week.  He LOVES frogs and always requests a frog card for his birthday.  It is getting to be quite a challenge to find different frogs every year.  I used Papertrey’s Pond Life to make this card.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I started with a base of Spring Rain and impressed it with the Sunshine impression plate inked with Versamark.  I cut a piece of white cardstock to fit in the center and then sponged Spring Rain ink over it and along the edges.  I stamped the images in Spring Moss, Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint, and Faded Jeans ink.  I adhered this center piece to the card with foam tape to give it dimension.  To add texture to the frog, I embossed it with clear embossing powder and overheated the powder until it bubbled up.  It almost looks like gross, scaly frog skin.  Ewwww, I really, really dislike frogs to the point where I have been known to scream when I see one.  Unfortunately, my kids get a big kick out of that and use every opportunity to catch me off guard.  Let’s just say, that I have seen all the real frogs I ever want to see.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

For the inside,  I stamped the frogs as if they were hopping across the card.

Supplies

Stamps - Pond Life, Simple Little Things, Fillable Frames 8

Paper – Spring Rain, White

Ink – Spring Moss, Versamark,  Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint, Faded Jeans distress inks

Other – sunshine impression plate, clear embossing powder

Psalm 86:10 WORDart

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I just love this verse!  God has done such wondrous things in my life and He is so great and greatly to be praised!  I often need to be reminded that He ALONE is God.  He really doesn’t need my help.

I made this card with the SCS Clean & Simple challenge in mind.  The challenge was the word “crinkle”.  I ran some Brown Bag Kraft paper through my crimper for some crinkle and distressed it with PTI Chai ink, I also used one of my handmade flowers.  Both the base and the focal point are some new cardstock that I found called Blue Jeans.  I just love the look and texture of this paper!  The base is Stonewashed and the focal point is Distressed White.  I printed the WORDart onto the paper after I die cut it with the Spiral Notebook page die.  First I printed the WORDart onto plain white paper then taped the die cut over the print with removable adhesive and reprinted.  I find it helps to line up the die cut over the print  by holding the paper up to a light source.  After printing, I distressed the die cut a little by sponging some Spring Rain ink over it and along the edges.  I then wrinkled up the edges a little and adhered with foam tape.

Thank You

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I ran this Fine Linen cardstock base through the Cuttlebug using the Woodgrain impression plate inked up with Versamark.  I just can’t seem to stop doing this, I just love this look!  The Spring Moss focal point was die cut with the Mat Stack 4 die.  I then stamped the wreath in Ripe Avocado,  stamped the berries using Versamark and the sentiment in Aged Mahogany.  I punched a strip of Scarlet Jewel cardstock and added a strip of Green Tea Leaves paper on top then added some white satin ribbon over that.  I finished the card off with a scarlet jewel and ripe avocado button tied with white twine.

Isaiah 26:4 WORDart

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

What a fantastic promise!!!!

The card base is Harvest Gold  impressed with the Guide Lines impression plate.  It’s not real easy to see in the picture but I used the “Faux Letterpress” technique here by inking the impression plate with Momento Cantaloupe ink before running it through my Cuttlebug.  I then stamped the image from Guide Lines in the spaces with the same ink.  I printed the WORDart onto Summer Sunrise cardstock after changing the color to Pantone 180C in Photoshop and die cut it with the Mat Stack 4 die.  The swirls above and below the WORDart are from Vintage Labels and are stamped with Versamark.  I adhered it with foam tape over some Terracotta Tile grosgrain ribbon and added some clear gemstones to finish off the card.

The WORDart can be downloaded HERE if you are interested in using it for your own cards and projects.

Feedback is very much appreciated!

Thanks for stopping by.   ~Karen
