Psalm 118:24 WORDart

Every morning when I awake I am so thankful for another day. It is not always easy to rejoice in a new day when we know we have to face things that are not going to be easy, but if the Lord is giving me the day then I know He will make a way. I know that no matter how tough the day may be, God is still going to be there with me and I can rejoice and be glad in that.

The card ~

I started with a card base of Raspberry Fizz. The patterned paper is Wild Raspberry by K&Company. I adhered the WORDart to the card base, then cut a hole in the paper using a nestie die to fit over it as a frame. I used the Apron Lace border punch to punch the border and tied a bow around the paper before adhering to the card base with foam tape. I then added a button and some bling to finish off the card.

You can download the WORDart HERE.

Mother – Daughter cards

My daughter loves to spend time in my craft room making cards with me.  Since last week was my son’s 12th birthday, it gave us a perfect opportunity to do that.  This is the card I made.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Matthew has a special talent with the computer and is amazing when it comes to graphic arts.  He could probably teach me a few things on Photoshop and he is completely self-taught.  He astounds me with the things he manages to teach himself.  As soon as I saw this image by Dustin Pike, I knew it was the perfect one for his birthday card.  I colored it with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol and added a touch of Glossy Accents to the banana on the computer.  I matted the image onto a Orange Zest scalloped square.  The patterned paper is from my stash and I used a border punch to make the scalloped border.  I stamped the sentiment in Orange Zest onto my Kraft card base.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Here is the card my daughter made.  She informed me that it looks like I made her card and she made mine.  I think she was trying to tell me hers is better.  She chose to use this image from Phindy called “It’s all yours”.  She colored it with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol.  Isn’t it just adorable!  I think she did such a great job!  She matted it onto Spring Rain cardstock and chose some paper from the DCWV Sweet Stack and Spring Rain as her card base.  She had me tie the brown ribbon around the paper and then added the button.  She told me what she wanted and how she wanted it all laid out.  I think I have some big time competition on my hands.  I am so proud of her!

Psalm 23:4 WORDart

I apologize for the lack of posts lately.  Time has sort of got away from me a little bit.  We are taking this week for Spring Break so I am hoping to find some time to spend in my craft room.  I have big plans to clean my house and do some spring decorating.  I love to decorate for the different seasons and I am so ready to put away the winter stuff and bring out the flowers.  I am sure everyone is feeling that same longing for spring as I am.

For this week’s WORDart I chose to use the verse from Psalm 23:4, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, They comfort me.”  So often we think of this verse when we are facing a situation where loss of life is involved, but I am so glad it is not limited to that.  God is always with us, no matter what we are facing.  Whether it be loneliness, hurt feelings, fear or depression, whatever the case may be, He is there to comfort us and we have no need to fear.  He is such an awesome God!

The card ~ I used Melon Berry as the card base and I stamped the flower from In Bloom in Versamark ink.  The WORDart is cut with a curved rectangle nestie die and I stamped the flower in Aqua Mist in the corners.  I then tied some Aqua Mist grosgrain ribbon around the card and added a Melon Berry button tied with embroidery floss.

The WORD art can be downloaded HERE.

Psalm 108:1 WORDart

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Oh, that I would serve the Lord with a fixed heart!  To be fixed and intent on Him.  To sing and praise Him with all that is within me.  God has been so good to me, He has kept my family through sicknesses and sorrow.  He has turned my mourning into dancing and my sorrow into joy.  I can rest assured that no matter what the future holds, He will keep me.  He is so worthy of my everything!

This WORDart is available HERE

As always, I would appreciate it if you would link back to this post or my blog to share this file.

I made this card using paper from my scrap drawer, so I am unsure of the manufacturer.  The cardstock is Dark Chocolate from Papertrey.

Have a blessed day today!

Psalm 32:8 WORDart

I have been so busy this last week and a half.  I have had no time at all to create new WORDart or make any cards so I am reposting the card that I made for my son’s graduation last year along with the WORDart that I created for it.

Malachi's grad card

I love this scripture!  I love knowing that even though I am constantly facing new challenges that God is there to instruct me and teach me and that I can count on Him to guide me with HIS eye.  I cannot see what lies ahead of me, but He can.  Lately I have been feeling so overwhelmed with life and all of the decisions and uncertainty that it can bring.  I want to be in control so that I can make all of those decisions based on what I feel is best for me, but that is not always possible and probably not the best solution.  What a relief to know that I can trust in Him even when I am feeling helpless and He does know what is best for me.

The original card and supply list is posted here.

Philippians 1:3 WORDart

I am so thankful for the friends that God has placed in my life. So many times when I have been down, I have had a friend drop me an email or give me a call and it would brighten my day. It always means so much. I don’t think there is anything more meaningful than to have a friend tell you they are praying for you and feel their love and encouragement. I want to be a friend like that.

The card ~

I changed the color of the WORDart to pink for a girly card but it would also make a great masculine card done in a rustic color. I stamped the image from Vintage Labels in Hibiscus Burst ink under the WORDart and cut it out with long rectangle nestibilities and matted it onto Raspberry Fizz cardstock cut with scalloped long rectangle nestibilities. I layered Raspberry Fizz cardstock that I punched with a border punch with some paper from Raspberry Fizz Mix and In Bloom and tied some Raspberry Fizz satin polka dot ribbon around it. That’s a lot of Raspberry Fizz! I added some adhesive gems from Martha Stewart to finish it off.

The WORDart can be downloaded HERE.

I only ask that if you use it, please share the link back to this post so others know it is available to them.
