A Hybrid birthday card

I have been so bad about blogging this week. I can't believe it is already Friday and I haven't posted all week. I have recently been inspired by all the hybrid projects I have seen in cyber world lately. I had forgotten about all the kits I had purchased years ago at PcCrafter.com, and decided to locate them on my computer. This card is made using the Birthday Celebrations digital kit. It was just perfect to make a birthday card for my little niece. I added a little sparkle to the number with a startdust clear glitter pen. I also used a glue pen to go around the edges to add some glitter to the mat.
Here is a close-up of the image. You can see the sparkle better here. I used foam tape to adhere the image and give it more dimension.
Here is the picture of the inside. The party hats are from the same kit, I just cut them out and glued them on.

Supplies-

Paper: Papertrey white, berry sorbet, plum pudding, pattern paper from Birthday Celebrations
Ink: Papertrey berry sorbet
Stamps: happy birthday sentiment (The Paper Company)
Image: Birthday Celebrations (PcCrafter.com)
Accessories: stardust clear glitter pen, diamond dust glitter, berry sorbet ribbon (Papertrey), cuttlebug happy birthday folder, curved rectangles nestibilities

Simple Little Thank you

Just a simple thank you card I made while I was playing with my new stamps. This stamp is from the Spring Flowers set from The Angel Company. I colored it with prismacolor pencils and OMS. I colored the center of the flower with a yellow Glaze pen, although you can't see it at all in this picture, it does give it some dimension in real life. The sentiment is a GWP from The Angel Company stamped in Versamagic Pretty Petunia. I just tied a little smidgen of ribbon and attached it with a glue dot. For some reason, in this picture the ribbon looks huge, however, it does like nice on the actual card. As you can see, I still need to work on my photography skills.

Hey, have any of you been over to Gina's blog lately? Lots of excitement over there!! She has just started StampTV! I think it is going to be an incredible resource. Gina is always really great about her tutorials being so easy to understand and now you can watch! Click on the blinkie on my sidebar.

My Hubby's Valentine

I finally got around to posting this card I made for my husband for Valentine's Day. He proposed to me 21 years ago on Valentine's day, so it is a very special day for us. I am truly blessed to be able to share my life with such a wonderful man.

I stamped the background using the scratched grid backgrounder by Cornish Heritage Farms in Papertrey Vintage Cream. I then used the heart nestibilities to cut and emboss the window. I cut the same heart on plain printer paper to use as a mask, and then used a stipple brush to make a heart border on the inside of the card. The birds are stamped in Prussian Blue and I colored in the second bird using a Prismacolor pencil. The bird and sentiments are from the Love and Valentine set by Inkadinkado.
And here's a look at the inside.

Supplies:

Stamps-scratched grid backgrounder (CHF), Love and Valentine (Inkadinkado)
Paper-Papertrey Kraft
Ink-Papertrey Vintage Cream, Pure Poppy, Palette Prussian Blue
Accessories-heart nestibilities, heart rain dots (Cloud 9), Prismacolor pencil

Valentine Name Cards

I wanted to make my kids some cute little valentines that doubled as name cards for our Valentine's dinner. These are 3 x 3 cards. I used Kid Praises by The Angel Company and Pals (retired). I colored them with Spica glitter pens. I just wanted to add a touch of color and some sparkle to each card and these worked perfectly.
I stamped their names using the JustRite Brayton font and Harmony Rectangular stamper.

I hope to be back later to post the card I made for my husband. I have been super busy, and snatching minutes to create and blog.

Have a great day!

Bible Verse Challenge Card

I was reading my Bible the other day when this scripture just jumped out at me. I grabbed my journal and wrote it down. It seemed to be the perfect scripture for a birthday card I wanted to make for a lady in our church who is one of the strongest people I know. I know that her strength is not from within herself, but because she relies on God to strengthen her.
I am so thankful to serve a God who is always there for me. Who gives me strength on a daily basis and a peace that passeth all understanding. This isn't just a nice idea, it is a PROMISE from God to His people. What an awesome God!!! I am humbled daily to think that He loves me and cares about the littlest things in my life. I honestly don't know how I could make it through the day without His strength and peace. He is so very, very good to me.
Here is a close-up, I wanted to show off the shimmerz on the flower. I colored a cream colored Prima flower with Pink Poinsettia Shimmerz. I printed the scripture on cardstock. I'm sorry, I don't remember the font I used. I always forget to write it down. I guess I need to work on that.

Supplies:

Paper-Papertrey White, Dark Chocolate, Basic Grey Sultry
Accessories-Computer generated scripture, curved rectangles nestibilities, dk. chocolate ribbon (Papertrey), Prima flower, Pink Poinsettia Shimmerz, adhesive pearl (K & Co.), Cuttlebug Vintage Die

Have a fantastic day!

A journal and card set

This is a gift I made for my sister-in-law for Christmas. I realized that I haven't shared it with you yet, so I thought today would be a good day to do that. (Truth is, I haven't had time to make anything, so I have nothing else to share.) The journal is one that I bought at Borders for just a few dollars on the clearance table. I just added a strip of satin ribbon and used my Label One nesties to cut and mat her name that I stamped with my JustRite stamps and rectangular stamper. I then stamped the swirly stamp from Papertrey's Faux Ribbon for a little decoration. I made a little bow with the ribbon and glued it above the name tag. You would never know this journal only cost just a few bucks. I used Lauren's Timeless Templates All Boxed Up to make the stationary set. I made the same tag as the one for the journal just minus one layer.
I used paper from DCWV All Dressed Up as my inspiration. The template is made using Papertrey Vintage Cream cardstock. I used Martha Stewart's doily border punch to punch the border in Bazzill black cardstock. The ribbon is ribbon from Offray.
I made 8 cards, 4 with black ribbon and 4 with cream ribbon. The cards are exactly the same, just different ribbon. I really made it really quick and easy this way and still gave some variety to the cards. I stamped her name using the JustRite Monogram Stamper Kit in the 1 5/8" size. The monogram is cut with circle nestibilities and matted with petite circle nestibilities. I added a little stick on pearl to the letter.
I don't have a picture of it, but on the flap of the envelopes I stamped the same monogram in the JustRite 1 3/16 size. It was the perfect touch.

The pen (top picture) is an RSVP pen that I covered in the same paper and covered with microbeads. I made a little charm for the pen by stamping the large monogram on white Shrink film and using a jump ring to attach it to the ribbon on the cap.

Thanks for looking and have a really great day!

Two Hearts

Just a really quick post today. My daughter's bridal shower is tomorrow and this is the card I made for her. Very simple and easy. The card size is 5.25 x 5.5. I used my Scor-pal to score 3 lines on the bottom of the card leaving enough room for the sentiment I wanted to use. I stamped my hearts and then painted them with Shimmerz Angel Wings to add shimmer. Those babies really shimmer in real life. I cut them out and adhered them with pop dots.

Supplies-
Paper- Papertrey White
Ink-Versamagic Night Sky, Pretty Petunia
Stamps-Heidi Swapp (heart), Verve Anniversary Birds (sentiment)
Accessories- ribbon (Offray), Scor-pal, Shimmerz Angel Wings

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend!

Gotcha! I've been tagged.

Winter tagged me a few days ago. I was supposed to go to my pictures folder, 6th folder and the 6th picture and post it to share a little bit about myself. That picture just happened to be my daughter and my niece acting silly on the very long trip to Tennessee. We were all traveling to Pigeon Forge to vacation for a week and celebrate my parents 40th wedding anniversary. There were 19 of us--my brothers and their wives and children, my parents and my family. We came from New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and Florida. We had so much fun just being together and made such wonderful memories that I will cherish forever. That was really fun, reminiscing about that time. Thanks, Winter!
Ok, I am supposed to tag 6 people. Here goes.

Jackie from My Sweetest Girls
Carmen from QueenTomas
Amy from Not just another stampin blog
Sara from Luminous in my choatic dreams (life)
Jennifer from Just Coffee please
Katy from K's Card Creations

Take time today to remember something that brought you joy.
